Be a part of the Carter Historic Farm, a working farm and living history center interpreting life on a Depression-era farm.
Activities on the farm are conducted with sustainable practices. In 2020, 1,300 lbs of fresh produce was harvested and donated to the Brown Bag Food Pantry, and buckwheat and corn were grown.
The Carter Historic Farm property features a farmhouse, many outbuildings, heritage garden, demonstration fields, 1890s Zimmerman Schoolhouse, woodlot and trail, and a restored wetland behind the woodlot.
This working farm takes a whole team of staff, volunteers, and animals to recreate life in a Depression-era farm. Together, we preserve our agricultural heritage and provide interactive education to the public. We hope you'll be a part of this effort.
