Adopt-a-Seed Collecting Bed
Assist the Stewardship Department by maintaining a specific native plant bed. This is an important part of our conservation efforts and is an outdoor and on-going volunteer position.
*Anyone can volunteer, but having native plant knowledge is very helpful.
Program Guidelines

Stewardship Coordinator:
Location: Reuthinger Memorial Preserve, 30730 Oregon Road, Perrysburg, OH 43551
Duration: summer to autumn (June – October)
Days and times: Choose your own schedule during park hours: 8 am – 30 minutes past sunset.
Expectations of the volunteer(s)
- Adopt a collecting bed(s) for a growing season of summer – autumn
- Complete Native Plant orientation
- Visit twice per month for weeding, planting, and removing undesired plants
- Collect seeds and plant seedlings in coordination with the Stewardship Staff
- Record volunteer hours at wcparks.galaxydigital.com
Expectations of Wood County Park District Stewardship staff
- Prepare bed
- Provide access to water and access to indoor restroom facility
- Provide any native plants to be added
- Provide access to a first-aid kit and volunteer sign-in sheet
- Provide tools and training
- Provide nursery bed map
Requirements
- Be physically able to perform the volunteer duties
- Use tools safely and appropriately
- Demonstrate respect for yourself and others

Things to Know
- You will be invited to an annual Volunteer recognition event
- In case of inclement weather, please do not attend. If there is lightening, do not enter the greenhouse. Please check the forecast before heading to the park.
